Awa-Otani ware is pottery made in a small pottery town in Otani, Oasacho, Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture. Currently, Yoshimi Kiln produces tableware, objects, vases, etc. using Yakishime pottery, kiln change, ash glaze, etc. The potter works hard every day to create pottery that he himself thinks is good. The clay used for Otani ware has a very high shrinkage rate and low fire resistance, making it difficult to handle, but once you touch it, you will feel a simple, healthy gentleness. Otani ware, fired from such Otani clay, awakens people's memories of nature that they have almost forgotten as they use it, and at the same time gives them a sense of peace.
