Fujimura Seishi Memorial Museum

The Fujimura Silk Manufacturing Memorial Museum was designated a "Kochi Prefecture Modern Industrial Heritage" in 2007 and a "Registered Tangible Cultural Property" on October 18, 2000. The site of the factory, which ceased operations in 2005, displays materials related to the modern silk-reeling industry, as well as the process of making raw silk from cocoons, mechanical silk-reeling, photographs of the factory during operation, the history of raw silk in China (from books held at the Lyon Library), the Imperial family and sericulture, and the trademarks of various silk-reeling companies.
