Toraya Honten is a Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1905 in Fujioka City, Gunma Prefecture. The shop's signature confection is the Oni Sable. Onigawara tiles are tiles that are placed on the edges of the ridges of Japanese-style buildings for decorative and warding off evil spirits. Oni Sable is made by stuffing sable into a mochi wafer that resembles an onigawara tile. We also recommend the "Chocolate Oni Sable," which is made using bitter couverture sweet chocolate in the Oni Sable. It can also be purchased online. Toraya Cafe is also located on the second floor of Toraya Honten.
