Yashio Hydrangea Village

Around Yashio Onsen, about 5,500 hydrangeas bloom in a variety of colors from early June to early July. In Hydrangea Village, the Eight Lucky Gods are enshrined, including the familiar Seven Lucky Gods and the Fukukijin, who is said to have lived on Mt. Mikahoko in the mountains of Fujioka City. You can enjoy a tour of the Eight Lucky Gods while admiring the hydrangeas. There are also many other recommended spots, such as the blue hydrangeas that were cut from Meigetsuin Temple in Kamakura. Be sure to stop by Yashio Onsen and Sakurayama Park. The Yashio Hydrangea Festival, held in conjunction with the blooming of the hydrangeas, is crowded with many people.
