Kaizu Osaki

Kaizu Osaki is one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Shiga Prefecture, being selected as one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Sightseeing in Japan." Approximately 800 Somei Yoshino trees bloom in full bloom over a 4km along the shore of Lake Biwa, giving the view a view that looks like a cherry blossom tunnel. In particular, when you drive along the lakeshore road, you can enjoy the spectacular sight of cherry blossoms overhead. The cherry blossoms in Kaizu Osaki have a beautiful contrast with Lake Biwa, making them ideal for cycling and walking. The cherry blossoms reflected on the lake surface and the cherry blossom trees seen from the lake are also spectacular, and cherry blossom viewing on a sightseeing boat is also popular. Many tourists visit during the flowering season and local cherry blossom festivals are also held. The best time to see the flowers is from early to mid-April in the usual year. The lake breeze is pleasant and it is a spot where you can fully feel the arrival of spring.
