Ise Tomb

Ise Tomb is the northernmost of the surviving tombs in the Shiroishi Tomb Group. It is a circular tomb with a diameter of about 27m, built around the end of the 6th century, and has a horizontal stone chamber. The left and right walls of this chamber feature a method of stacking large and small river stones called "patterned stacking". This patterned stacking stone chamber is unique and can only be found in Fujioka City and certain surrounding areas. There are several patterned stacking stone chamber tombs remaining in the city, but Isezuka Tomb is the most neat and beautiful of them all. Visitors are free to enter and observe Ise Tomb.
