Koji MARUTANI

Koji MARUTANI is a restaurant directly managed by Sekiya Brewery, a local sake brewery. The alcohol menu also features a wide variety of precious sake made by this brewery. Sekiya Brewery was founded in 1864. We have been making sake for about 160 years, and have continued to develop our skills and knowledge to this day. Sekiya Brewery is working on the "sixth industrialization" of sake brewing. They grow their own rice (primary industry) then use that rice to brew sake (secondary industry), and serve it at directly managed retail stores and restaurants (tertiary industry). By completing this series of processes in-house, we can deliver the appeal of Japanese sake to more people while maintaining our commitment to quality. At Koji MARUTANI, a restaurant directly managed by Sekiya Brewery, you can easily enjoy the charm of Japanese sake to the fullest. There is a sake server in addition to a beer server in the store. Therefore, you can enjoy fresh sake delivered directly from the brewery on the spot. It is a special space where you can enjoy the depth of sake, which is registered as a world intangible cultural heritage, in a variety of flavors. Inside the restaurant, you can enjoy a three-piece platter of koji, which is rare for snacks, and a five-piece platter that includes local Mikawa ingredients and side dishes that pair well with sake. In addition to dishes using koji, we have distinctive menus such as koji amazake and koji smoothie, both of which have a natural sweetness. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy the deep charm of koji along with Japanese sake. The menu is also gentle on the body and takes advantage of the power of fermentation. Kouji MARUTANI, located in Hisaya-odori Park, is perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a drink. There is also outdoor terrace seating, so it is recommended if you want to spend a wonderful evening with seasonal sake.
