Dutch Slope

Dutch Slope is a stone-paved slope in the Minamiyamate district of Nagasaki City, and is filled with an exotic atmosphere. During the Meiji period, this area flourished as a foreign settlement, and Western-style architecture and stone-paved streets remain, conveying the atmosphere of those times to the present day. The name comes from the fact that foreigners at the time were collectively referred to as "Oranda-san." As you walk up the slope, you can enjoy the historical buildings and beautiful cityscape, and it is also a popular photo spot. (Photo by AC)
