Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

This world-renowned "above-the-clouds mountain sightseeing route" connects Toyama and Nagano, passing through the Northern Toyama Prefecture at an altitude of 3,000 meters. Anyone can easily enjoy the magnificent nature and spectacular views as the route takes you between Tateyama Station in Tateyama Town on the Tateyama side and Ogizawa Station in Omachi City Nagano Prefecture side, visiting numerous scenic spots. Tateyama Murodo Plain, located on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, is one of the snowiest areas in the world. The area around Murodo receives particularly heavy snowfall, forming snowdrifts, and in spring, a huge wall of snow known as "Snow Valley" forms.
