Zoshigaya Kishimojin Temple

A 15-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station is a shrine dedicated to the god of safe childbirth and child-rearing. Within this shrine is Kamikawaguchiya, a traditional sweets shop founded in 1781 and known as Japan's oldest cheap sweets store. In addition to traditional snacks, the store also sells key chains featuring the shop's mascot cat and new products.
