Matengai

Matengai is one of the largest sea cliffs in Japan. Standing on the 257m high cliffs, you can get a good view of Nishinoshima and the neighboring Chiburijima. Horses and cows graze in the area, and you can also see endemic plants such as the Oki dandelion. The Kuniga Coast hiking trail starts from Matengai and descends to Tsutenkyo Bridge. You can get a better view of Matengai near the halfway point of the trail.
