Uchiharano Park

Every April, Uchiharano Park is enveloped in a swirl of brilliant colors as approximately 15,000 azaleas bloom in profusion. From early spring to early summer, the park is filled with plum, cherry, azalea, wisteria, iris, and Japanese iris. The Azalea Festival, organized by the Tourist Association, is held from late March to early May, and there are events on weekends, attracting many people. This park was originally developed as a pleasure park during the feudal era by Goto, a retainer of the Yamauchi clan of Tosa who ruled Aki, and many azaleas were planted at that time.
