Intro
Ibaraki prefecture, situated north of Tokyo, is famous for its stunning floral displays. Here you will find Hitachi Seaside Park, which has seasonal flower displays from spring to fall, and beautiful illuminations in the winter. Kairakuen Park, located in the capital city of Mito, is one of Japan’s three most beautiful gardens and is where, in late February to March, hundreds of gorgeous plum blossoms burst into bloom.
Ibaraki also has many shrines and temples, many of which are considered to be especially powerful, and also has one of the world’s tallest bronze Buddha statues. Those interested in Japanese religion and nature fans should definitely pay this prefecture a visit!
