Shimanto River (Downstream)

With a total length of 196 km, it is the longest river in Shikoku, originating from Nyuyama in Tsuno Town. Known as "Japan's last clear stream," the Shimanto River Basin has been designated as an important cultural landscape for its connection to the river and the people who live in tune with the rhythms of nature and the scenery of the four seasons throughout the year. In addition, there is a bridge without railings that is designed to sink under the water when the water rises, called a sinking bridge, and it is crowded with many tourists during the season.
