Kinushima columnar joint

The columnar joints of Kinushima are rare dikes that have been designated as a national natural monument. Most of the columnar joints are hexagonal columns of basalt that are vertically oriented, but those on Kinushima are even more rare, with four to hexagonal columns that are horizontally oriented. Because it is close to the coast, you can see it from up close even with SUP. There are several other geosites around Higashikagawa City.
