Tateiwa & Nochigahama Beach

This coast is dominated by Tateiwa, a geospot representing Kyotango. The clear seawater and large grains of sand washed by the waves make this a great spot to swim in the summer, and in winter, the dynamic rough waves of the Sea of Japan combine with the snowy scenery of Tateiwa to create a spectacular view of the winter Sea of Japan. Cross the Tenkitenki Bridge over the Takeno River, which flows into the coast, to enjoy the promenade to the Taisei Kofun Group, or walk west along the coastline to Ushirogahama. There is also the Tenkitenki Tango Roadside Station nearby. Experience the majestic natural beauty of Tateiwa and the Oonaru Kofun Group, representative spots of Kyotango in the San'in Coast Geopark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
