Hiroshima

Hiroshima, known intentionally for their unwitting role in the Second World War, is a city that prides itself on its rebirth from the ashes and on its dedication to world peace. Here you will find the A-Bomb Dome, and Miyajima, the outlying island famous for Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its great vermilion torii gate standing out in the ocean.

But Hiroshima is also known for Hiroshima Castle, Kamiyacho and Hacchobori, two fun shopping areas, and Shukukeien, a 400 year old Japanese garden. Miyajima isn’t just home to Itsukushima Shrine - there is also Omotesando, an amazing old shopping street, a five-storied pagoda, and many friendly Japanese deer strolling freely about the island.
