Uminaka Candle Night 2024
Now in its 18th year, Fukuoka's Uminaka Candle Night is a fantastical illumination event held annually at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park.
From candlelit ground drawings to light displays resembling fountains made of candles and glowing steam locomotives, the event offers various performances that entertain both children and adults.
10,000 Candle Art Installations

The highlight of Uminaka Candle Night is the art installation featuring 10,000 candles. The magnificent painting created with candles is truly breathtaking!
The motifs depicted change every year and are selected among artworks submitted by the public. This year's theme, "Everyone's Happy Christmas," expresses the wish for participants to experience a fun and joyful event.
We look forward to seeing what kind of artwork will be created, so stay tuned until the event day!
This candle art is being prepared with the help of park staff and local volunteers.
Surrounding benches allow you to enjoy the warm, handmade glow of the candles up close, making it a charming feature. It's also a popular photo spot!
Shimmering Steam Locomotives and Fountains

During Uminaka Candle Night, various places in the park will be illuminated with lights alongside candle lights.
In the 100-meter-long canal stretching straight from the west entrance, the fountains will be lit up to resemble candles!

At Uminaka Candle Night, popular amusement park attractions like go-karts and steam locomotives will be illuminated, creating excitement with limited-edition glowing rides at the "Hikari no Yuenchi" (Light Amusement Park).
Animal-shaped illuminations will also be installed in a section called "Wonder World," brightening up the entire park.

- By Train: 37 minutes by train from Hakata Station to the nearest Uminonakamichi Station.
- By Bus: The nearest bus stop is the Nishitetsu Bus Marine World Uminonakamichi stop. It is about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop to the park.
There are multiple parking lots within the park. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes after entry.
