Sanrio Puroland, which opened in December 1990, is a theme park dedicated to Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, the Little Twin Stars, Gudetama, and others.
Since it is an indoor facility, you can comfortably enjoy your time regardless of the weather all year round.
You can spend your time in various ways, including popular attractions for children, shows and parades, as well as restaurants where you can enjoy original menu items inspired by Sanrio characters.
Sanrio Puroland: Location and Access
Sanrio Puroland is located in Tama City, Tokyo, which can be easily accessed by train in about 30 minutes from central Tokyo.
Tama City is famous as the "city where you can meet Hello Kitty," and there are many nature-rich spots nearby, such as Tama Central Park and Nakazawa Pond Park.

By train
- About a 7-minute walk from Keio Tama Center Station (Keio Line) and Odakyu Tama Center Station (Odakyu Line)
- About a 10-minute walk from Tama Center Station (Tama Monorail)
Access is available from three lines: Keio Line, Odakyu Line, and Tama Monorail.
By car
About 7.4 km (approximately 20 minutes) from the Kunitachi-Fuchu IC on the Chuo Expressway.
You can use the Puroland Underground Parking or the Tama Center District Shared Use Parking (three locations available).
By airplane
From Haneda Airport, take the airport shuttle bus (fare: 1,700 yen for adults, 850 yen for children) for about 90 to 140 minutes to Keio Tama Center Station.
Reservations are required in advance through Highway Bus.com.
Sanrio Puroland Tickets and Day Passports
There are two types of entry tickets at Sanrio Puroland:
1. The Day Passport, which allows you to enjoy the park during the day,
2. The Afternoon Passport, which permits entry after 14:00.
Both types of tickets vary in price depending on the date of your visit.
You can purchase tickets via two methods: buying at the ticket counter after making a Web reservation or purchasing the official e-Passport with a reservation.
The official e-Passport, which comes with a reservation, allows for a seamless experience from purchase to entry using your smartphone.
On the day of your visit, you won't need to line up at the ticket counter, and it's 100 yen cheaper than buying at the counter, making it a recommended option. Tickets are also available at Sanrio shops and convenience stores.

How to Spend the Morning

Upon entering Sanrio Puroland, head to the entrance shop on your right to purchase ear headbands, hats, and other merchandise.
It’s recommended to put together a Puroland outfit featuring your favorite character.
Near the entrance shop, visit the Marchen Workshop where you can create your own original charm by combining your favorite parts on a name holder or pass case as the base.
Don’t forget to take memorable photos at the photo spots while holding your original items!
At the Character Greeting Residence, designed to look like an apartment where Sanrio characters live, you can enjoy greetings with characters in five themed rooms.
Since there is a limit on the number of people for greetings, it’s wise to obtain a digital ticket in advance.
The Sanrio Character Boat Ride is an approximately 10-minute attraction where you can have characters superimposed on empty seats in the boat, and they will print the results for you.
Since the afternoon tends to get crowded, it's recommended to ride in the morning.
If the timing is right, be sure to also enjoy the shows and parades held at the Tree of Knowledge Stage and Marchen Theater.
3 Restaurants to Choose for Lunch at Sanrio Puroland

You can have lunch at three locations: the Character Food Court, The Hall Restaurant, and Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant.
The Character Food Court on the first floor of Sanrio Town has approximately 500 seats and offers a variety of food items, including colorful curry and ramen featuring the characters.
The Hall Restaurant on the fourth floor operates on a 70-minute buffet style, allowing you to enjoy a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes such as pasta, dim sum, curry, and desserts.
If you obtain a waiting ticket in advance, you can meet characters dressed in original costumes.
Restaurant ticketing begins one hour before the opening time, so if you want to enjoy your meals and desserts at a leisurely pace, it's best to obtain your tickets early.

The Sanrio Rainbow World Restaurant, also on the fourth floor, features a pop and colorful food court.
It is divided into seven character areas where you can enjoy plate meals featuring character-themed hamburgers, pasta, roast beef, and more.
Ordering the menu served in Hello Kitty's lunch box allows you to take the lunch box home, which is a delightful bonus!
How to Spend the Afternoon

In the afternoon, why not enjoy the remaining attractions and amusements?
~My Melody & Kuromi~ My Melody Drive is a ride attraction located on the first floor of Sanrio Town.
You can ride in an eco-friendly My Melody car and tour Mariland, where My Melody and her friends live.
There are six photo points along the way, and you can enjoy doodle decorations on the photos taken after you exit the ride.
The theater Cinnamoroll's Little Adventure features motion seats and offers a participatory adventure attraction.
You can experience shooting with a magic wand, and the excitement is heightened by the immersive feeling provided by the motion seats.
Additionally, a greeting with Hello Kitty, themed Kawaii × Celebrity, at the Lady Kitty House is one of the main highlights!
