ONE PIECE × Sanyo Shinkansen to Launch in Spring 2025

The Sanyo Shinkansen Line, which connects Osaka to Fukuoka, is set to embark on a new adventure as it partners with the beloved anime franchise ONE PIECE.

The Sanyo Shinkansen is operated by JR-WEST and connects Shin-Osaka Station in Osaka to Hakata Station in Fukuoka with stops in cities like Kobe, Himeji, Okayama, and Hiroshima.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary on March 10, 2025, the Shinkansen will introduce the ONE PIECE Shinkansen, showcasing a vibrant and dynamic travel experience inspired by the iconic series.

A Vibrant Journey Begins

Step aboard the Grand Rail Line! This special Shinkansen bullet train showcases a vibrant collection of ONE PIECE characters, prominently featuring the Straw Hat Crew with a fresh artistic touch created specifically for this project.

As part of this exciting initiative, three original Shinkansen trains will soon hit the tracks, each featuring exclusive designs that capture the whimsical world of ONE PIECE, created by renowned manga artist Eiichiro Oda.

This collaboration aims to enhance the travel experience along the Sanyo Shinkansen route and promote the region's charm during the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo in April 2025.

Unique Train Designs

Echoing the theme of Journey to Setouchi, this three-car train boasts a stunning blue design that captures the beauty of the surrounding seas.

The ONE PIECE Shinkansen will transport passengers not just across distances but into the heart of the ONE PIECE universe. Each train will feature unique interior and exterior designs that reflect themes of excitement, emotion, hope, and connections, resonating deeply with fans of the series.

The trains will run along the Sanyo Shinkansen line, connecting major cities 19 from Shin-Osaka to Hakata.
