Store-Exclusive Plans Now Available Online!

Previously, the GTN Prepaid Data SIM small-capacity plans—10GB/30 days and 30GB/7 days—were only available at the Haneda and Namba stores. However, due to their popularity among short-term visitors, they are now also available on the official website and at the Shin-Okubo store!

In addition to the existing large-capacity plans (50GB/30 days and 135GB/90 days) offered online, we’ve now introduced smaller-capacity plans with shorter usage periods, giving you even more flexibility to choose the perfect plan for your trip.

If you run out of data while traveling, no worries! You can easily top up with GTN Mobile.

Physical SIM and eSIM!

On the official website, you can purchase a physical SIM card or choose eSIM for any of the four data plans. If you have an eSIM-compatible smartphone, you can apply and purchase 24/7 online. Once your payment is complete, you’ll receive a notification email with your eSIM details right away.

This means you can set up your connection before arriving in Japan, avoiding the hassle of picking up a SIM card in-store!

Your ideal plan can generally be determined based on how long you’ll need it. However, many customers ask, "How much data do I actually need?"
The answer depends on your personal usage habits, making it difficult to set a clear standard. To help, here are some general reference points:

What Can You Do with 1GB of Data?

When using Wi-Fi, you might not think about how much data you're consuming.
But when relying on mobile data, it’s good to know how far 1GB can take you:
LINE calls: 55 hours (approx. 300KB per minute)
Music streaming: 250 songs (4-minute songs at ~4MB each)
Video streaming: About 2 hours (standard quality, 480p)
Google Maps:
-Normal mode: ~5–10MB per hour
-Navigation mode (real-time): ~30–50MB per hour
Photo uploads/downloads: 3–10MB per image (depending on quality)
-At 3MB per image, 1GB allows for 330–340 photos

How to Purchase

There are two ways to purchase a GTN Prepaid DATA SIM: online or in-store .

In-Store Purchase

We recommend purchasing in-store if:
- You’re unsure whether your phone is compatible.
- You have trouble with internet or device settings.
- You prefer to buy a physical SIM card.
To reduce waiting time, we recommend filling out the application online in advance.
If you're unsure about the application process, feel free to visit the store directly—our GTN Mobile staff will assist you from application to SIM card setup.

Online Purchase

If you would like to use an eSIM, please enter the required information on the GTN Mobile application page and pay by credit card. We will send you detailed information about the eSIM to your registered email address.
There's no need to visit our store.
