A trip to the picturesque Minoda Bamboo Forest Highway

This time we visited the Minoda district of Matsusaka City , Mie Mie Prefecture .

This pillar is the landmark, just three steps across the road from the parking lot on the east side of Matsusaka Agricultural Park Bell Farm.

I walked along the small path.

Once we left the path, a rural landscape emerged. After walking a few hundred meters further, we found the entrance to what appeared to be a bamboo forest.

As soon as you step inside, you'll be enveloped in a magical silence.

Even though it was a hot day, a pleasant breeze blew through and the bamboo blocked the light, making it quite cool.

After walking for a while, I heard a cool sound beyond the birds' songs.

I followed the sound and found a wind chime.

Listening to the clear sound of the wind chimes and looking at the bamboo is a very luxurious experience.

Take a short break at Minuda Shrine

As we passed through the bamboo grove, we were greeted by cute Tanabata decorations.

Next, following the Tanabata decorations, we came across a large shrine.

Binta Shrine is a shrine that enshrines the local guardian deity.

Carp were swimming leisurely in the large pond.

Since I came all the way there, I decided to get some blessings and go home.

The Minoda Great Buddha Hall is located right next to Binta Shrine.

It is said to be very rare to be able to worship the Great Buddha in Mie Prefecture.

On the other side of the single door, I sensed a solemn atmosphere.

After saying hello to Shinraku-ji Temple, which manages the Great Buddha Hall, we took a short walk around the area to rest.

Bamboo forests, shrines, a Great Buddha hall, temples... I saw a lot of things in a short distance and got a taste of what it was like being in a tourist spot.

Minoda's "Daibutsu Udon"

As I was walking along feeling satisfied, I saw a vivid sign. Since I was hungry after walking so much, I decided to get something to eat.

I heard that horumon curry udon is popular, but I went for the "Daibutsu Udon."

The name is just too good, and above all, Daibutsu Udon seems to have "everything" on it.

Oh my gosh!!! Hail!!!

This udon dish follows on from the bold way of eating arare rice crackers, a traditional dish from Mie Prefecture.

The udon noodles, which the owner says are handmade, are chewy and delicious. The broth brings out the fragrant aroma of the arare rice crackers, whet your appetite.

The soft rice crackers are very similar to the mochi rice cakes in ozōni, and go perfectly with the soup stock.

The conclusion is that rice crackers are great in soup.

I head home with a full stomach.

At Bell Farm, where you can enjoy seasonal flowers, the second bloom of roses will be in full bloom from now on.

Every corner is well-maintained, and you can enjoy beautiful flowers. It's almost a shame that admission is free.

Finally, we visited the souvenir shop and the direct-from-producer market inside Bell Farm, and with our desire for souvenirs satisfied, our relaxing trip came to an end.
