Odaiba Lantern Festival 2026: LED Nights by Rainbow Bridge
Odaiba’s seaside will glow on April 25 and May 9, 2026, as tethered LED paper lanterns rise above Odaiba Beach against the backdrop of the Rainbow Bridge.

Odaiba’s waterfront will shimmer on two spring evenings — Saturday, April 25, 2026 and Saturday, May 9, 2026. At Odaiba Seaside Park, dozens of battery-powered paper lanterns will lift aloft from the sand, their soft light drifting while remaining gently tethered against the illuminated silhouette of the Rainbow Bridge.
The scene promises a calm, dreamlike spectacle, perfect for quiet dates, small groups, or anyone who wants a photogenic, reflective moment by the water.

As twilight deepens, the LED-lit lanterns will float on helium but stay attached with retrieval lines, creating the illusion of hovering lights that can be brought back to earth. Their paper-like skin diffuses a warm, nostalgic glow rather than a harsh beam, casting pools of amber that ripple across the waves and skyline.
The two nights frame Golden Week: one night to hush the pre-holiday bustle, the other to savor its afterglow.
This is a brief, cinematic ritual, quiet, communal, and easy to photograph. Bring a light jacket for the sea breeze, steady your camera for low-light shots, and enjoy a soft constellation of lanterns with a washi-like finish (washi: thin, handcrafted Japanese paper) above one of Tokyo’s most dazzling waterfront views.
