About the Artist "Otake Ohtake"

Otake Ohtake is a contemporary artist born in Tokyo in 1955. Since 1988, he has been based in Uwajima, Ehime, and has exhibited internationally. Following his first solo exhibition in 1982, he has held nearly annual solo shows in Japan and abroad. His 2022 Tokyo exhibition, considered the culmination of his work to his 60s, was followed by continued creative activity, and he will present new works at this year’s special exhibition in Marugame.

Travel between Megi Island, Teshima, and Marugame is via chartered boats, cutting regular ferry transfers from hours to about 40 minutes.
