BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai: Opening on March 19

Yokohama has a new landmark! BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai is set to open its doors on March 19, 2026.

This massive development includes the OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts and a premier live viewing arena by DeNA. Visitors can explore 55 different shops, featuring two exclusive brand-new business concepts.

Located right in front of JR Kannai Station, the complex offers immediate access upon exiting the station.

Its close proximity to Yokohama Station and the popular Minato Mirai sightseeing district makes it easy to visit all three in a single trip.

Connected to Yokohama Stadium and Yokohama Park via a pedestrian bridge, the facility aims to transform the Kannai Station area into a vibrant new urban hub filled with excitement.

A Bar Street Next to the Stadium! Featuring Global Cuisine

Spanning two buildings—Stadium Side Terrace and The Legacy—the Stadium Side Bar Street dining area features a collection of 34 shops.

You'll find specialty dishes made with local ingredients from Yokohama and across Kanagawa, alongside a diverse range of domestic and international dining brands.

There’s no need to worry about going hungry here, as there are endless food options to choose from. If you’re just looking for a spot to sit and relax, there are plenty of cafes as well.

The selection ranges from local favorites like ramen, teppanyaki, seafood, and yakitori to an international array of French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, and Mexican cuisines.

The space is designed with a focus on flexibility and social connection, making it the perfect spot for lunch, afternoon tea, or late-night drinks.

Yurindo: The Bookstore Founded in Yokohama Kannai in 1909

Founded in 1909 in Yokohama Kannai (Isezakicho), the historic bookstore Yurindo is creating a brand-new cultural zone spanning three floors, from the basement level to the second floor.

Beyond just selling books, the store has partnered with the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature to establish a dedicated literary promotion zone.

The space further integrates diverse lifestyle facilities, including a comfortable co-working space, YURINDO PORT BAZAAR, which features a curated collection of fine goods, Gura Vibes—a small gallery for interacting with art, and 1909 and Yurindo Shokudo, two dining facilities serving classic Western-style cuisine.

WONDERIA Yokohama: An Immersive Experience Facility

Located inside the main Tower, WONDERIA Yokohama is an indoor facility that allows visitors to enjoy an immersive, extraordinary experience through high-impact visual performances—a type of immersive attraction that has become very popular recently.

The facility consists of 6 different themed zones, such as Lush Green Forests and Mysterious Deep Seas. Stepping inside creates the illusion of being temporarily detached from the real world.

In addition to the experience zone on the 4th floor, the 3rd floor features WONDERIA Cafe, where you can linger in the afterglow of the visual experience, and WONDERIA Shop, which sells original merchandise.

The cafe is designed with large floor-to-ceiling windows that provide excellent natural light—the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a donut!

The Live: Japan's Largest Live Viewing Venue

THE LIVE, supported by Daiwa Jisho, will be a permanent live-viewing arena operated by DeNA and the largest of its kind in Japan.

The venue features a large-scale LED screen and high-performance audio equipment.

And what’s a game without great food? Don't worry—there is a small food court right next door offering a selection of snacks and meals perfect for enjoying alongside the action.

The first floor features a dining area centered around a massive LED screen, while the second floor houses BAYSTORE Flagship YOKOHAMA, which sells merchandise for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars and other professional sports teams.

The third floor features the terrace restaurant THE BBQ BEACH, where you can enjoy a barbecue in an open and comfortable setting. It is open during both the day and evening.

Greenery Walk Terrace: Outdoor Terrace Commercial Zone

The Greenery Walk Terrace is composed of a series of two-story buildings featuring outdoor terraces, with its greatest charm being the lush, open-air atmosphere.

The area hosts several cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating—perfect for the upcoming spring season when you can sit outside with a hot coffee and dessert to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

The new Starbucks concept store focused on tea, Starbucks TEAVANA, will also open its first-ever Kanagawa location here.

Starbucks TEAVANA is a tea brand under Starbucks, dedicated to reimagining the tea experience by offering a tea-focused menu.

There are currently not many locations in Japan, and this will be the 28th branch nationwide. If you're passing by, be sure to stop in and try it!

OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts: Opening on April 21

There will soon be a new hotel to stay at when visiting Yokohama! OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts is set to officially open on April 21, 2026.

The project involves a direct renovation of the 60-year-old Former Yokohama City Hall.

Originally built to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Opening of the Port of Yokohama, the former City Hall was designed by Togo Murano, one of the representative architects of modern Japanese architecture.

The interior of OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts is a masterful blend of old and new.

If you look closely, you can still find traces of a bygone era—for instance, the worn edges of the staircases have been preserved from the days of the original Yokohama City Hall.

In August of last year, this building became the first post-war structure to be designated as a Yokohama City Certified Historical Building.
