Yokohama has a new landmark! BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai is set to open its doors on March 19, 2026.

This massive development includes the OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts and a premier live viewing arena by DeNA. Visitors can explore 55 different shops, featuring two exclusive brand-new business concepts.

Originally built to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Opening of the Port of Yokohama, the former City Hall was designed by Togo Murano, one of the representative architects of modern Japanese architecture.

The interior of OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts is a masterful blend of old and new.

If you look closely, you can still find traces of a bygone era—for instance, the worn edges of the staircases have been preserved from the days of the original Yokohama City Hall.

In August of last year, this building became the first post-war structure to be designated as a Yokohama City Certified Historical Building.
