As a MATCHA Japanese to English translator, your task will be to translate articles from MATCHA's Japanese language website (https://matcha-jp.com/jp) into English. On the other hand, as our English to Japanese translator, your task will be to translate articles from English (https://matcha-jp.com/en) into Japanese.

Requirements

- Japanese language skills corresponding to at least level N2 of the JLPT.
- Native level English language skills.
- Relevant experience in the translation field.
- Good knowledge about and consideration for the Japanese culture.
- In the case of non-Japanese citizens, a visa that allows work in Japan is required.

We also expect our translators to be able to respect deadlines.

Conditions and Compensation

We are seeking a Japanese to English translator who can work on a part-time basis, as well as Japanese to English and English to Japanese translators who can work remotely on a project basis.

Details about the Part-Time Translator Postition
- The translator should be able to work from our office (located in Tokyo's Asakusa area) at least once a week.
- Main tasks: in-house translation, article translation, management of translation tasks, proofreading.
- Compensation starts from 1,200 yen/hour for office work.

Details about the Project-Based Translator Postion
- Article translation (less than 2,000 characters in Japanese) is compensated with 2,000-3,000 yen/article.
- The translator should be able to work from home and perform at least one article translation per week.
