Highlights of the Ukiyoe Motion Exhibition NAGOYA
Vivid colorful art by famous ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Utagawa Hiroshige has been recreated using 3D computer graphics and projection mapping so that the art moves and reacts to the motions of visitors. It's a breathtaking experience of Japanese art!
The ukiyo-e art comes to life in six stereoscopic art rooms featuring motifs such as sea creatures, birds, flowers, historical landmarks, and famous scenic places such as Mt.Fuji.
Visitors can take a seat and look at the artwork projected onto digital screens resembling shoji doors. The experience feels like sitting in a traditional-style house looking out into a magical garden.
Some of the ukiyo-e prints are displayed with information on their history and background.
The museum is child friendly and offers interactive experiences for children such as a fishing game and interactive screens.
Enjoy finding your favorite ukiyo-e artwork and become immersed in a world of art in Nagoya this summer!
