The Three Great Icicles in Chichibu are a winter scenic spot in the Chichibu region, northwest of Tokyo, consisting of the Misotsuchi Icicle, the Onouchi Hyakkei Icicle, and the Ashigakubo Icicle.
In winter, spring water seeping from the rock face freezes, creating a stunning sight approximately 10 meters high and 30 meters wide. Since these are natural ice pillars, their appearance changes each year, allowing visitors to enjoy a different facade every year, which is part of their appeal.
