Kyotango City is known as a town of longevity. Currently, there are 116 people over 100 years old, and the rate of centenarians per 100,000 people is about 3.1 times the national average and 2.7 times the Kyoto Prefecture average. This area has been attracting attention as a region with a particularly high longevity rate.
The secret to longevity is said to be the traditional food culture and lifestyle nurtured by Kyotango City's nature and climate. Since ancient times, a diet centered on seaweed, seafood, and beans has improved intestinal function and supported good health. In addition, since many people work in agriculture, it has been reported that they are able to strengthen their legs and hips while soaking up the sunlight, which leads to good bone density.
Kyotango's traditional cuisine often uses plenty of fish and vegetables. The cuisine is a local treasure that makes use of the local natural bounty and has supported healthy eating habits.
Here we will introduce 7 restaurants within the facility where you can enjoy longevity gourmet food.
