Takahata Isao Exhibition - The Man Who Planted Japanese Animation
Azabudai Hills Gallery is pleased to present "Takahata Isao Exhibition - The Man Who Planted Japanese Animation"
The year 2025 marks the 90th anniversary of Takahata Isao's birth, and also 80 years since the end of the Pacific War, which had a major impact on Takahata's life. In light of this background, with the planning cooperation of Studio Ghibli, the exhibition will also feature "Grave of the Fireflies."
Additionally, a layout of the heavy cruiser Maya, drawn by Hideaki Anno, who is active as a director and producer, when he participated as an animator in "Grave of the Fireflies", was discovered. This will be shown for the first time at this exhibition, along with a harmony cel based on the layout.
