Japan’s pop culture is hugely popular worldwide; in particular, Japanese anime has truly taken the world by storm in recent years. One key element of many of these shows is the unforgettable music, and many anime songs have become iconic in their own right.

Now it’s possible for fans to take part in a unique vocal coaching experience, specifically tailored towards those interested in singing anime and J-pop songs!

The Tokyo Anime Song Experience is now available at several studios in central Tokyo.

A Unique Experience for Japanese Pop Culture and Music Enthusiasts

For music fans and lovers of Japanese anime and pop culture, the Tokyo Anime Song Experience offers something truly unique and memorable.

The experience gives participants the chance to learn to sing Japanese songs like the professionals; teaching singing skills, correct pronunciation and even performance techniques used by idols in Japan.

The organizer and coach, Rena Komatsu, has extensive experience within Japan’s music industry. An active music director, vocal coach, and winner of the Japan Record Awards, she has coached multiple J-pop artists, as well as composing music for anime and television herself.

Rena states that she was very much inspired by her own experiences when coming up with the concept.

While traveling within the US she visited Broadway, Harlem, and Hollywood, taking classes in dance, gospel singing, and accent. She says that these experiences were hugely beneficial, and left a lasting impression on her. She wanted to create something similarly memorable and impactful for those visiting Japan.

The experience includes training in pitch, rhythm, pronunciation, vocal techniques, staging skills, and more!

How to Book Lessons at Tokyo Anime Song Experience

The experience is currently held at studios in Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro. Participants are welcome to request particular songs they wish to work on!
