NAKED FLOWERS Nijo Castle: Be Enchanted by Lights This Fall and Winter

Fall is one of the most stunning times of year to be in Kyoto, and digital art collective NAKED is celebrating the season with their incredible digital art event, NAKED FLOWERS Nijo Castle.

The event takes place from October 28 until December 4, 2022, and will showcase a dazzling, illuminated version of the renowned historical site.

See a Stunning Spectacle of Light This Fall and Winter at Nijo Castle

Each night Nijo Castle will be transformed via projector mapping, becoming a stunning digital work of art.

Blurring the boundaries between the realms of the physical and the digital, art collective NAKED utilizes technology to create new worlds, frequently embracing themes such as nature, history, and traditional culture when doing so.

Highlights of the event include the brilliantly illuminated Karamon Gate featuring a glowing phoenix, a virtual ikebana experience and an interactive flower-themed experience.

NAKED FLOWERS Nijo Castle is part of the wider NAKED GARDEN ONE Project, which will feature events across Kyoto. These also include digital art at Heian Jingu Shrine and the famed tea area Uji. NAKED FLOWERS Nijo Castle is expected to be the main event of the project.
