Instead of taking classic snapshots at tourist attractions, why not take playful ones as memories with AR art?

"AR (augmented reality) Art" is one of the digital arts coming into spotlights in the world today. AR art can be enjoyed by displaying CG images superimposed on the real world, mainly through smartphones and computers. "The AR Art Tour with Smartphone" is one of the projects of the ``Ishikawa Hyakumangoku Cultural Festival 2023'', which will be held in various places in Ishikawa Prefecture from 14 October to 26 November. This is an event of edge-cutting art featuring AR that exhibits at 14 locations around Ishikawa Prefecture.

About Participating Artists

This event will be exhibited at famous tourist spots around Ishikawa Prefecture, such as the Tsuzumimon Gate of Kanazawa Station, Mitsuke Island, and Wakura Onsen. Tourists can travel around the prefecture and enjoy the works of AR art with their smartphones in hand. In addition to Amayagido, an Ukiyo-e artist living in the prefecture, internationally active Japanese AR artist kenxxxooo, Omega from Germany, Mitsuko Ono, who creates unique AR art, students from the prefecture were also involved in the production of AR art.

Enjoy AR Art Simply With Your Smartphone

It's interesting to see virtual visual information superimposed on scenery in the real world, giving an absolutely fresh impression to sightseeing spots and famous places where you've been to before. In the AR version of Kanazawa Station Tsuzumimon Gate, the main gateway to Ishikawa Prefecture, by simply tapping the Ishikawa Prefecture mark, a mysterious world shows up. Especially when the view at night when the lights of the Tsuzumimon Gate and AR art, it creates an even more magical atmosphere. Also, aliens who like humans will appear at the "Space Science Museum Cosmo Isle Hakui". Near the Yamanaka Onsen ``Kiku no Yu'', popular photo spots will be presented into 3D art. These are arts with animated effects, therefore video taking is highly recommended.
