Until July 6! TOKYO Matcha Time at Tokyo Skytree
Tokyo Skytree is bringing a taste of Kyoto tea culture up to its observation decks from April 23 to July 6, 2026.
The event pairs sweeping city views with a special collaboration menu from Kyoto’s long‑standing tea brand Gion Tsujiri, plus immersive installations that celebrate Japan’s tea traditions.
Don't miss out on the following highlights!
Event-Exclusive Matcha Treats at SKYTREE CAFE

SKYTREE CAFE, located within the Tembo Deck (Floor 350), serves four event‑exclusive items using Uji matcha.

Visitors can choose from a wasanbon (refined Japanese sugar) matcha latte, a yuzu‑matcha gin soda, a Uji‑matcha sundae with shiratama (rice‑flour dumplings) and azuki (sweet beans), or a rich matcha affogato.
Value tickets bundle Tembo Deck admission with a drink or sweets voucher (savings up to 400 yen depending on date).
Private Tea Workshops in the Morning

Two small‑group, ticketed sessions (May 9 and June 13) let guests learn matcha‑whisking and tea‑ceremony etiquette with wagashi (Japanese confection) tastings.

The workshop is held in a quiet, reserved section of the Tembo Deck for an intimate, sensory experience.
Tembo Deck Displays, Mascot greetings, and Special Lighting

There are event-exclusive photo spots and tea‑inspired décor around the Tembo Deck (Floors 350 and 340).
Floor 350 features a sky‑high tea setting where props like a kyusu (Japanese teapot) and tatami‑style accents frame panoramic views, creating serene, close‑up portrait backdrops.

Floor 340 offers a round‑window lookout that captures sweeping cityscapes blended with shincha‑green (first‑flush tea) tones, ideal for wide‑angle shots.

Sorakara‑chan, Tokyo Skytree’s mascot, will greet visitors in a new costume inspired by shincha green.

During the event, the tower has a new special lighting sequence called Kissako, which visualizes the movements of tea preparation as flowing green light.
