Tokyo's Marunouchi Illumination 2024 is taking place again this year near Tokyo Station, covering approximately 1.2 km from Yurakucho to Otemachi.
Around 286 street trees will shine in champagne gold, creating a fantastical atmosphere as if you are walking under a starry sky, making it a very popular Christmas event.
This event exudes a romantic ambiance, perfect for winter dates and outings. The Marunouchi area is home to stylish restaurants, cafes, and bars, as well as opportunities for shopping and cultural experiences, making it an excellent destination for couples, families, and friends to visit!

On the main street, Marunouchi Nakadori, the Marunouchi Street Park 2024 Winter will also be held simultaneously, featuring food trucks and shops along approximately 500 meters.
From November 28, an ice skating rink will be set up, allowing visitors to enjoy the festive Christmas atmosphere alongside the Christmas market.

In addition, the Gyokodori Illumination 2024 will also be held simultaneously along Gyokodori, which connects Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace East Gardens.

Centered around the Marunouchi Building, the event MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY 2024 ~LET’S PLAY in MARUNOUCHI with SUPER MARIO~ featuring a collaboration with the "Super Mario" series will take place in the Marunouchi area.
At the main venue on the 1st floor of Marunouchi Building, a Christmas installation titled Super Mario Power-Up Illumination, approximately 13 meters tall, will be on display, and visitors can enjoy a lighting show every 15 minutes from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Additionally, there will be a photo spot with Princess Peach, a stamp rally around the Marunouchi area, as well as original merchandise and special menus, making it a must-see event!

The location for Marunouchi Illumination 2024 has been announced as the area around Tokyo Station and Marunouchi Nakadori.
The illumination will focus on Marunouchi Nakadori, as well as the area in front of Tokyo Station (near Tokyo Building and Marunouchi Hotel), Gyokodori, and around the Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan near Yurakucho Station (as shown in the photo).

The lighting times for Marunouchi Illumination 2024 are from 16:00 to 23:00. (*From December 1 to 31, the hours are scheduled from 16:00 to 00:00)
In addition, the lighting times for the concurrently held Gyokodori Illumination 2024 are from 16:00 to 00:00.

How to Access Marunouchi Illumination 2024: Nearest Stations

As mentioned above, the Illumination 2024 will take place over a wide area including Marunouchi Nakadori, the area in front of Tokyo Station, and Yukyodori, so there are multiple access methods.
Below, we introduce access to the main street of Marunouchi Illumination 2024, which is Marunouchi Nakadori, spanning approximately 1.2 km.
Access by Train
Marunouchi Nakadori is conveniently located near the following stations, all within about a 5-minute walk to Marunouchi Nakadori. However, be cautious as Tokyo Station is very large, and it can be easy to get confused with the exits.
- JR Lines: Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit
- Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line: Tokyo Station Marunouchi Underground South Exit
- Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line: Nijubashi-mae (Marunouchi) Station, Exit 4

- JR Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, Negishi Line: About a 4-minute walk from Yurakucho Station Central West Exit / Hibiya Exit

Access by Bus
Around Tokyo Station, there are bus stops at Marunouchi South Exit, which operates buses to Tokyo Big Sight and Harumi Pier, Marunouchi North Exit, which operates buses to Kinshicho Station and Yotsuya Station, and Yaesu Exit, which operates buses to Tokyo Big Sight and Minami-Senju Station.

KITTE Marunouchi

KITTE Marunouchi is a commercial facility located near the Marunouchi Exit of Tokyo Station. It consists of parts that preserve and regenerate the former Tokyo Central Post Office building and newly constructed sections, housing around 100 shops and restaurants.
The building features a stunning atrium design, and during the Christmas season, an event called WHITE KITTE (*) is held, showcasing a large, all-white Christmas tree in the first-floor atrium.
The approximately 13-meter-tall fir tree, adorned with lights and accompanied by a light and music show, is a spectacular sight worth seeing.
From the rooftop garden on the 6th floor, KITTE Garden, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Marunouchi station building and the Shinkansen at JR Tokyo Station. This spot offers not only shopping and dining but also seasonal events and exhibitions to enjoy.

The Marunouchi Street Gallery is an art project centered around Marunouchi Nakadori, where the entire area is adorned with sculptures and art pieces, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a museum.
This project is operated by Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and the Sculpture Museum Foundation, and it has been ongoing since 1972. Works by modern sculpture masters and contemporary artists are rotated every few years, allowing visitors to enjoy new art consistently.
