The Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa has been reborn as a space worthy of being the base for a Yambaru , and we welcome you as a comfortable hotel that offers a unique stay experience through a wide range of accommodation plans and a wide variety of activities that guests can select according to their various usage situations and needs.
Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa (Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture) is located at the entrance to Yambaru , a region in northern Okinawa that is registered as a World Heritage Site and is home to lush subtropical nature. Based on the concept of "LOVE OKINAWA DISCOVER YAMBARU with the island and connect with the forest," the hotel will begin offering guests the "Okinawa Coffee Nature Tour: Learn, Roast, and Taste in the Great Outdoors of Yambaru Yambaru scenery.
There are some special experiences in Yambaru in winter that you can't get in other areas of Okinawa. One is the experience of harvesting and roasting Okinawan coffee, which is harvested in winter. Okinawa is known as the northernmost part of the coffee belt, and coffee has been grown there for over 100 years. Because the yield is small and coffee is rarely shipped outside of Okinawa, it was not widely known that coffee was grown in Okinawa. However, with the recent development of coffee culture, rare Okinawan coffee is beginning to attract a lot of attention not only from within Japan, but from all over the world.

Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa will be offering the "Learn, Roast, Taste in the Great Outdoors of Yambaru! Okinawa Coffee Nature Tour" from January 2025. This special tour allows you to experience these two things in half a day. You can make the most of your limited travel time and enjoy an active trip to Okinawa even in winter.
The course begins at Nakayama Coffee Farm, where you will hear about Okinawa-grown coffee, stroll through the farm, harvest, and roast. With advice from the staff, you can roast your coffee to your liking. At Nakayama Coffee Farm in Nakayama, Nago City, you can experience harvesting coffee cherries and roasting them using refined and dried raw beans, only during Okinawa's winter season from the end of November to the end of April. In 2023, approximately 200 to 300 people a month, including customers from outside Okinawa Prefecture and overseas, visited the farm to experience the harvest.
Afterwards, you will head to the Yambaru forest with a guide who is familiar with the nature of Nago City. At the top of the mountain, where a spectacular view spreads out before you, you will taste the coffee you roasted yourself. You will be able to enjoy a special cup of coffee that is a little different from your usual coffee.
Both guides will also use translation devices to provide explanations to overseas guests. Smooth communication will ensure the safety of guests and allow them to have a more fulfilling time.
You can also use the hotel spa after returning to the hotel after the tour. Combining a spa experience to relax and soothe your tired legs and hips after a long day of walking is a recommended part of the hotel's tour plan. Spend a day surrounded by abundant nature and the hotel's high-quality hospitality, rejuvenating your mind and body.
*Please note that we may not be able to harvest due to growing conditions or weather conditions. In that case, we will give you gifts such as coffee beans.
