A World First! Noto Satoyama POKÉMON with YOU Airport Grand Opening on July 7

Based on a partnership agreement aimed at bringing smiles to the disaster-stricken areas of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, Ishikawa Prefecture and the POKEMON with YOU Foundation are continuing to promote initiatives to cheer up children in the disaster areas, as well as tourism support projects designed to revitalize the local community.

As part of these initiatives, it has been officially decided that the current Noto Satoyama Airport will be transformed into the world's very first airport bearing the Pokémon name: Noto Satoyama POKÉMON with YOU Airport. It will celebrate its grand opening for a limited time from Tuesday, July 7, 2026, until the end of September 2029.

The airport introduction video has been released on YouTube, so please take a look.

About Noto Satoyama POKÉMON with YOU Airport

The Noto Satoyama POKÉMON with YOU Airport is scheduled to launch on July 7, 2026. Below, we will introduce what kind of brand-new transformation the airport will undergo.

Original Logo

Created with the desire to deliver vitality, the original logo features a bright and gorgeous design. It centers around a Poké Ball and Pikachu, beautifully incorporating the topography of the Noto Peninsula alongside the smiles of local residents and travelers.

2nd Floor Atrium Space

In the unique 2nd-floor atrium space of the airport, a giant Pikachu and an airplane-shaped balloon will float as symbols of the airport, surrounded by countless Pokemon that look as if they are soaring comfortably through the sky.

Including this atrium space, the entire airport premises will be decorated with all 111 types of Flying-type Pokémon discovered as of May 2026. (*Excluding Mega Evolutions, regional forms, etc.)

1st Floor Arrivals Lobby

The 1st-floor arrivals lobby will feature a large-scale display showcasing the reconstruction support artwork Bright Future, which was specially drawn in 2024 to support the recovery of Noto. This scenery, reminiscent of Noto's rich nature, will gently welcome travelers visiting the region.

Furthermore, Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun, who were originally drawn in the center of the artwork, will come to life as 3D commemorative statues waiting to greet all the passengers.

Airport Exterior

The top of the airport exterior is also adorned with the initiative's logo. The pillars at the airport entrance are lined with a diverse array of Pokémon, building excitement for the journey ahead. In addition, Pokémon decorations can be enjoyed in every corner, from the airport terminal's main entrance gates to the boarding bridges leading to the airplanes.

On the 2nd-floor walls, decorations depict the daily lives of Pokémon as they might unfold in airports around the world. At the same time, some of the directional signs and signboards throughout the airport have also been updated to Pokémon versions.

Fun Activities Inside the Airport

In addition to the decorations mentioned above, the airport has prepared a wide variety of exciting and fun initiatives.

Countless Pikachu's are gathering at the airport's observation deck! The Pikachu's are lined up across the entire area, perfectly capturing the Satoyama (nature-filled countryside) imagery in the airport's name.

If you look closely, it seems a few other Pokémon have mixed in with the herd of Pikachu's to play along too!

3 Original Short Videos: Airport Side Stories

The piece depicts numerous Pokémon soaring through the air, combining brilliant light with a radiant rainbow to express a longing for the sky, the joy of flying freely, and hope heading into a new journey.

This artwork is expected to be widely featured across various decorations inside the airport terminal, on original merchandise sold on-site, and on wrapped buses.

In addition to T-shirts and keychains, the lineup includes items uniquely suited for an airport, such as luggage tags and suitcase belts. Be sure to pick some up as a commemorative souvenir of your trip!

Touring the Noto Peninsula from the Airport (Wrapped Buses in Operation)

Starting from mid-July following the grand opening of the themed airport, the Hokuriku Railroad Group will introduce two buses sporting brand-new Pokémon wrapped designs, officially debuting within Ishikawa Prefecture.

Noto Area Limited Express Bus (Wajima – Kanazawa) Pokémon Wrapped Model (Existing Route)

This route is a limited express bus connecting Kanazawa Station, Noto Airport, and Wajima City. The Pokémon wrapped bus is scheduled to run one round trip per day, making it highly convenient for travelers planning to sightsee around Kanazawa City as well.

Noto Excursion Bus Pokémon Wrapped Model (New Route)

This newly established excursion bus will depart from the airport, connecting travelers to various Pokémon sightseeing and photo spots set up across the Noto Peninsula. This bus will allow you to easily visit Pokémon spots unique to the Hokuriku region.

Examples include the Wakura Pokémon Footbath, which just opened on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Wakura Onsen in Nanao City, and the Sylveon with LOVE commemorative statue located in Suzu City. The specific route is currently under adjustment.

Please note: This excursion bus will operate only during limited periods, such as Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays (excluding winter), and during the summer vacation period (starting mid-July).
Official operation details, including the exterior designs of both buses and specific schedules, will be announced at a later date.
