Sapporo Autumn Illuminations: Golden Ginkgo and Pumpkin Sweets
Hokkaido's Sapporo Illuminations are back! Nakajima Park's light-up returns with expanded illuminations, pumpkin treats, photo spots and family fun.
Nakajima Park in central Sapporo will host the Nakajima Park Autumn Leaves Light-Up (SAPPORO AUTUMN ILLUMINATIONS) from October 24 through November 3. The illumination will be on nightly from 17:30 to 21:00.
Organized by Novero Co., Ltd., the event returns after last year’s inaugural edition, which drew about 147,000 visitors. This year’s program has been expanded with a larger lighting area, designated paid zones, and new offerings including a Pumpkin Sweets Fair timed for Halloween.
Lighting ceremony

The official lighting ceremony will take place along the ginkgo-lined path on Friday, October 24, beginning at 17:20 and lasting about ten minutes.
The event will feature an expanded lighting area illuminating additional trees and pathways to create longer viewing routes; the introduction of ticketed paid zones to manage crowds and offer premium viewing; a Pumpkin Sweets Fair with pumpkin-themed desserts from local vendors; designated photo spots along the ginkgo-lined path and other displays for photography and social sharing; and short curated programs plus accessible pathways to ensure family-friendly enjoyment.
