Limited to Specific Days! Inujima & Teshima 1-Day Art Island Tour

We depart from Hiroshima and head to Onomichi. First, we climb to the PEAK Observatory in Senkoji Park and enjoy a panoramic view of Onomichi's townscape and the beautiful archipelago of the Onomichi Setouchi. Next, we visit Senkoji Temple, nestled on the mountainside, and stroll through the characteristic Onomichi scenery, including the temple buildings nestled against giant rocks, the Onomichi alleys, and the five-story pagoda. For lunch, we enjoy the flavors of Onomichi at a restaurant recommended by our guide. In the afternoon, we visit Soraiken, a tea house and garden that recreates Rikyu's tea room (the garden is closed on weekdays). Furthermore, we visit Jodo-ji Temple, which has a national treasure hall and pagoda and appeared in the movie "Tokyo Story". Finally, we take a walk through the seaside town and conclude with a visit to a seaside art museum with an iron pier and murals.

*Itinerary

9:00 AM Meet at a hotel in Hiroshima City or at JR Hiroshima Station.

10:00 Senkoji Park Ropeway Base Station/Observation Area (Ropeway can be used if needed)

10:15 Senkoji Peak Observation Deck and surrounding park (views of Onomichi and the Setouchi)

11:00 Senkoji Temple (Stroll around the temple grounds / Pagoda, rock-enclosed buildings, etc.)

12:30 Lunch (additional charge / nearby restaurants can be recommended) → Take a taxi to Souraiken

14:00 Sōraiken (Garden and Tea Room Tour) *Entry into the tea room is not permitted / The garden is closed on weekdays → Take a taxi to Jōdoji Temple

14:50 Jōdoji Temple (National Treasure hall and pagoda, etc.) *Some facilities may be temporarily closed due to religious services, etc. → Travel by taxi

15:10 Seaside town, iron pier, seaside art museum (stroll)

Hi, there! My name is Yoshimi Nakao. I was born and raised in Hiroshima. I worked for All Nippon Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways as a flight attendant. When I worked as a cabin crew member for ANA, I lived in Osaka, and during my time with Virgin Atlantic, I lived in London. Customers often say to me, "You have a British accent, don't you?"

I now work as a tour guide, an interpreter and an instructor for manners and etiquette. I have been working as a nationally licensed tour guide including for VIPs for more than 20 years since 2001. Since I live in Hiroshima, I mainly offer tours in and around western Japan.

I sometimes work as an embarkation guide for cruise ships, covering various locations from Hokkaido to Kagoshima. For FIT (Foreign Independent Travelers), however, I mainly guide tourists around the attractions in Okayama, Hiroshima, and Yamaguchi prefectures.

In addition to Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, one of the most requested destinations is Naoshima, the art island. For repeat visitors who have already been to the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, I recommend exploring the Seto Inland Sea, which offers numerous scenic spots to enjoy.
