The World-Famous Museum of Light Opens in Japan

The experiential digital art facility from France, ATELIER DES LUMIÈRES (Museum of Light), has arrived in Japan for the first time.
Under the name RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES, it will officially open on Friday, June 12, 2026, within the newly built large-scale complex entertainment facility Tokyo Dream Park in Ariake, Tokyo.
First Landing in Japan
ATELIER DES LUMIÈRES is a popular digital art facility that has taken the world by storm, including France, the United States, and the Netherlands. It has garnered significant attention by fusing world-famous masterpieces known to all with the latest technology to create highly immersive art exhibitions.
The opening of RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES in Ariake, Tokyo marks the 10th facility in the LUMIÈRES series worldwide.
The venue centers around a massive Main Hall covering an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. Featuring a total of 7 designated exhibition zones, including the mirror-enclosed Infinite Horizon and the 360-degree video space 360° Cube, visitors can experience an extraordinary art space completely detached from everyday life.
A Massive Main Hall Enveloped in Light and Sound

The biggest highlight of this facility is undoubtedly the spacious Main Hall. Powerful dynamic images are projected onto the walls and floors, seamlessly synchronized with music, transforming the entire space with ever-changing, magical effects.
This area is scheduled to screen a long program of approximately 40 minutes and a short program of approximately 10 minutes.
First Wave Main Program: Van Gogh

The featured work for the opening's first wave is Van Gogh. The exhibition will take viewers on a dramatic journey through many of Van Gogh's masterpieces from his early years to his final days, including Sunflowers, The Starry Night, The Night Café, and his Self-Portraits.
As the paint spreads, the stars twinkle, and the backgrounds begin to flow, Van Gogh's works come vividly to life right before your eyes, making you feel as if you have stepped inside the paintings themselves on a journey.
First Wave Short Program: Gaudí

The short program shines the spotlight on the genius architect Antoni Gaudí.
Starting with the Sagrada Família, which is rumored to be nearing completion, to Park Güell, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà, his highly original architectural works are projected and presented in a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors.
Step Inside the Vortex Screen

A massive spiral column measuring 9.5 meters in diameter and 6.6 meters in height stands in the center of the Main Hall.
By weaving through the curtain screens arranged in a vortex pattern, visitors can experience a unique setup that makes them feel as if their entire body is being drawn into a whirlpool of imagery.
Additionally, the observation area, Mezzanine, offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the entire Main Hall.
An Infinite Space Enclosed by Mirrors

In addition to the Main Hall, the venue features a rich variety of exhibition areas where you can experience art with your entire body.
In Infinite Horizon, imagery is projected onto a space enclosed by mirrors on three sides. The visuals seamlessly expand across the walls and floors, creating a dreamlike panoramic vista that stretches on infinitely.
Visitors can make excellent use of the mirror reflections to capture stunning, dreamlike photos where they appear to blend right into the artwork.
A 360-Degree Expanding Cosmic Space: 360° Cube

The 360° Cube exhibition zone features 360-degree all-directional video projections, including the ceiling. This area will screen visuals themed around the universe, immersing viewers in the wonderful illusion of floating through the vastness of outer space.
Feel like an astronaut and enjoy this magnificent interstellar journey!
An Official Store to Bring Back Travel Memories

At the end of the facility, you will pass through the official store. The shop features a wide variety of diverse original merchandise, allowing you to pack up and take home the wonderful memories and inspirations gained at RÊVE DES LUMIÈRES.
