ZEN NIGHT Tofukuji is a premium nighttime viewing event held at the historic Tofukuji Temple in Kyoto from May 29 to July 5, 2026.

This immersive sound art experience marks the third iteration of the popular ZEN NIGHT series, following highly successful runs at Kenninji Temple in 2024 and Kenchoji Temple in 2025.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of early summer in Kyoto, the event blends centuries-old Zen philosophy with modern brain science. By combining light, nature, and VIE’s proprietary Neuromusic, the experience is designed to help visitors condition their brains, reduce stress, and achieve deep relaxation.

Experience Tomorrow's Meditation: Neuromusic Zazen

A major highlight of this year's event is the debut of the Neuromusic Zazen experience, taking place inside Tofukuji’s historic Zen Hall (Zendo). Rebuilt in 1347, the structure stands as Japan’s oldest and largest surviving Zen meditation training hall.

Inside this sacred space, visitors can participate in a high-tech meditation experience by wearing wearable brainwave-measuring devices.

As you meditate, your real-time brainwave data is transformed into captivating digital patterns and ambient sounds. This seamless fusion of technology and ancient Zen wisdom allows you to literally see and hear your mind entering a state of tranquil relaxation.

The majestic, solemn figure of the Standing Statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and the colossal, swirling painting of the Blue Dragon on the ceiling will vividly emerge from the darkness.
