Held at Oizumi Green Space in Sakai, Thanks Lantern 2026 will run from 15:00 to 20:30 on July 4 and 5, with the lantern launch scheduled for 20:00.

Visitors can send their gratitude and wishes into the sky using hot air balloon-shaped lanterns. Admission to the event is free, but a ticket is required to participate in the lantern launch. Sales begin with a super early-bird period, followed by early-bird and same-day sales.

Beyond the lantern release, the event will also include food trucks, street performer shows, inflatable play equipment, and classic festival games. Families can enjoy a lively summer atmosphere with sweets, drinks, and playful attractions for children.

Performer highlights include Taiga, a kendama performer with more than 10 years of experience; Mizon, a juggler known for fast, powerful performances; and YUPON, a Kyoto-based professional performer with 11 years of experience.

Senshu Beach Lantern Festival Vol. 7: Expo-Color Lanterns by the Sea

On the same weekend, Senshu Beach Lantern Festival Vol. 7 will take place at SENNAN LONG PARK and Tarui Southern Beach in Sennan.

The event runs from 12:00 to 21:00, with the lantern launch planned for 19:30.

This year’s festival will feature special red and blue lanterns alongside the usual orange lanterns as part of an Expo-themed project. Visitors can choose from three colors and send their lanterns into the sky while making a wish.

The seaside venue will be filled with a romantic summer mood as lanterns rise above the water and sunset transforms into night.

Festival highlights include lantern options in orange, red, and blue, along with family activities such as festival stalls, inflatable play equipment, treasure hunting, and a water-gun tournament.

Stage performances will feature street performers and local groups, while a workshop offering a marine keychain handmade marche will also be available.

Admission is free, but lantern launches and reserved seating require tickets. Available ticket types include a Lantern Exchange Ticket, FAMILY SEAT, PAIR SEAT, and VIEWING SEAT.
