Autumn Festival Above Shibuya: The Tenku Yume Matsuri

Tenku Yume Matsuri is an urban autumn festival to be held at SHIBUYA SKY, the observation deck atop Shibuya Scramble Square, from Tuesday, September 1, to Sunday, September 27.

Taking place 229 meters above ground, the event spans the SKY STAGE rooftop observation area and the 46th-floor indoor corridor SKY GALLERY.

Visitors can enjoy traditional Bon Odori dancing, writing their wishes on a strip of paper, and illuminated lantern decorations.

On September 5 and 12, a traditional Bon Odori dance will be held on the rooftop SKY STAGE. Guests are welcome to join and dance to the original track Shibuya Scramble Ondo.

Dynamic live performances by the Sukeroku Taiko drumming troupe and the roaming street musicians of Yoake no Chindonya will bring the festival to life, filling the open-air rooftop with vibrant sights and sounds.

In the 46th-floor indoor gallery, visitors can experience the Sky Dream Corridor, an attraction that drew over 30,000 participants in 2025.

Here, visitors write their dreams and wishes on colorful paper strips (tanzaku), which are displayed alongside sky-blue lanterns.

The soft glow of the lanterns synchronizes with a dynamic light installation across the walls and ceiling—shifting into a spectrum of mesmerizing colors. At the end of the festival, all collected wish strips will be burned in a sacred ontakiage ritual at Konno Hachimangu Shrine, the local guardian shrine of the Shibuya area.
