World's First! Tokyo's SUSHI BUS Operates from October 2026
A conveyor belt sushi restaurant on wheels is coming to the streets of Tokyo! The SUSHI BUS launched on October 10, 2026.
If the weather turns bad, the transparent glass roof can be closed, and the climate-controlled interior keeps passengers comfortable year-round.
How the SUSHI BUS Works
Here is how the SUSHI BUS works:
1. Staff prepare a variety of fresh sushi in the first-floor kitchen aboard the bus.
2. The prepared sushi is sent up to the second floor via an onboard food lift.
3. Second-floor staff place the sushi onto the conveyor belt running right alongside the seats.
4. Passengers enjoy all-you-can-eat conveyor belt sushi throughout the 70-minute tour.
Rather than serving pre-packaged sushi bento boxes on a standard tour bus, this system delivers freshly prepared sushi directly to passengers via a moving conveyor belt inside the vehicle.
More Than Transportation: A Dining Experience on Wheels

The SUSHI BUS departs from the Kajibashi Parking Lot near Tokyo Station and cruises past Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks.
Unlike conventional transit, this bus has no fixed destination. Rather than simply moving passengers from point A to point B, the journey itself is designed as an immersive culinary experience.

Along with enjoying all-you-can-eat sushi, passengers can take in sweeping views of the Tokyo cityscape from the open-top deck—offering a uniquely Japanese blend of dining and sightseeing.
Beyond eating and sightseeing, the experience comes with a third twist: being seen. The striking double-decker bus is guaranteed to turn heads as it rolls through the streets, making the passengers part of the city's lively backdrop.
