From November 13! Yoyogi Forest of Lights in Tokyo

Tokyo's Yoyogi Park is welcoming a new winter attraction! Yoyogi Forest of Lights will run from November 13, 2026, to January 11, 2027.

The event transforms the park’s cycling course area into a 1.8-kilometer illuminated walking route, combining colorful lights, music, and interactive installations with the surrounding forest.

Inspired by European winter illumination events, this nighttime experience invites families, couples, and travelers to explore a different side of one of Tokyo’s best-known parks.

A Forest Trail Filled with Light and Sound

Floral Fantasia is one of the installations awaiting visitors along the forest trail, where light displays bring a new atmosphere to Yoyogi Park’s natural surroundings.

Throughout the route, shifting colors illuminate the trees while music and ambient sounds accompany the walk.

Laser Lane adds another highlight to the 1.8-kilometer journey, with the preview image offering a glimpse of the illuminated scenery planned for the event.

Together, the installations invite visitors to experience the feeling of wandering into a forest transformed by light and sound.

Interactive Displays and Refreshments

The Singing Tree is among the featured installations at Yoyogi Forest of Lights, where illuminated scenery, music, forest scents, and refreshments create an experience designed to engage all five senses.

Along the route, interactive lighting responds to visitors’ footsteps, allowing guests to become part of the changing displays.

A food and drink area also offers a place to pause and enjoy refreshments during the evening.

A New Winter Attraction for Tokyo

Yoyogi Forest of Lights

Yoyogi Forest of Lights is the first illumination event of its kind at Yoyogi Park. Supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the project aims to encourage nighttime use of the park.

It is also a featured program in the Yoyogi and Shibuya area of ARTE TOKYO, the Tokyo International Culture and Arts Festival taking place from October to December.

With its forest setting and central Tokyo location, the event offers another reason to explore the Harajuku and Yoyogi area this winter.
