In Higashi-Koenji area, there are many stores that stand out. Such as a insanely delicious ramen noodle shop run by Iranian, really dirty shop with really good food, Manshu-ou. There are shops that you cannot find elsewhere.

In such Higashi-Koenji area, there is a shop that differs from any other shops. It's a cafe called "Kissa Seikatsu"(喫茶生活*). Here at Kissa Seikatsu, you can drink coffee with a wine glass. This cafe is opened until 12 am, so it's convenient when you want to think about something with a delicious glass of coffee. The picture above shows what it looks like outside the store.

*Kissa Seikatsu means, " a cafe life"

Simple sign of the store

Inside the small store, calming JAZZ is flowing.

Beans are available in the 50-gram weights.

This is the menu.

English menu available on the other side.

Last time, I had a cocoa, so this time I ordered coffee. You get to choose either a cup or a wine glass, and today, I chose wine glass.

I mixed milk with my coffee. The shape of the wine glass lets you enjoy the delicious coffee with its rich smell.

This time I ordered, "Sumatra Mandheling (600 yen)." It's nice that each coffee comes with a description card written carefully. Since I came in late, which was 10 pm, I got a glass of coffee with less caffeine in it.

At this shop, you don't have to bring anything to kill your time, since you'll find some hard core books about coffee that you'd never find in an used book stores. There's even Othello to play with. If I get a chance to come with my friend, I'd like to have a game.

If you wish to taste the delicious coffee with a wine glass, please go visit by all means. P.S. The manager is a unique person.
