Gorgeous Gingko Trees At Meiji Jingu Gaien - Entrancing Autumn Views In Tokyo
Meiji Jingu Gaien is one of Tokyo's most well-known and most beautiful spots in fall. Hundreds of gingko trees paint the area in gold in November. Learn more about this gorgeous area and why you should visit.
After mid-November, Meiji Jingu Gaien starts to shine in gold. When you leave Gaien-mae station and keep walking to the northeast, you start to see dazzling yellow colour on the left-hand side.
They are "Ginkgoes". The leaves of ginkgoes, which shine with sunlight, bring many people to this place.
The best time to see is from late November to early December. There are 146 Gingko trees lining at equal intervals on the both sides of 300m of the avenue.
Autumn's Gaien is in beautiful colours
In the beginning of November, Gingko trees are very lovely with the gradation of green and yellow.
In the mid-November, you can enjoy the beauty of colours through the contrast of the clear autumn sky and yellow leaves.
Just like a painting.
When the best season is close to the end, fallen leaves form a natural carpet and turn everything yellow.
Pedestrian precinct on Sundays and Public Holidays
From 9am to 5pm on Sundays and public holidays, a part of the avenue of Gingko trees becomes a Pedestrian precinct. Therefore, there are more people than usual. You can see families and couples there.
By encountering this Nature and beauty, you almost forget that you are in the center of Tokyo. By just looking at this view, you fall in love with autumn. Meiji Jingu Gaien at this time of the year makes us feel that way.
