Among the many Hokkaido wines, the first one I would like to introduce is Tokachi wine.

The Ikeda Town Grape and Wine Research Institute, which produces Tokachi wine, is the pioneer of Hokkaido wine, the first in Japan to start winemaking by a local government.

We produce and sell wine at the landmark Wine Castle overlooking Ikeda Town. You can participate in winery tours, buy wine at the direct sales store, and enjoy wine and dishes made with local ingredients, including the local brand beef "Ikeda Beef" at the restaurant.

3. Wineries in the Otaru/Yoichi/Niki area

If you head northwest from Sapporo, you will reach Otaru, Yoichi, and Niki in order. At Furano Wine, you can tour the winery where you can see the production process, see the aging warehouse, and sample the wine. Individuals can enjoy tours and tastings without reservations. The adjacent restaurant also offers popular dishes such as cheese fondue.
