Until September 23! Yokohama Lantern Night at Yokohama Bay Quarter 

Yokohama Bay Quarter is bringing a vibrant splash of Southeast Asian color to the waterfront from May 30 to September 23, 2026.

Celebrating the shopping mall's landmark 20th anniversary, this year's illumination event is scaled up significantly, boosting its layout to a record-breaking 1,000 hand-crafted lanterns across multiple facility locations. The event pairs refreshing ocean breezes with immersive photo installations and rich cultural activities that celebrate Vietnamese traditions.

Immersive Lantern Cubes and Photogenic Displays

The main plaza and surrounding areas are entirely transformed by colorful, hand-tailored lanterns made by local artisans in Vietnam. By day, the vibrant shades create a festive resort feeling; by night, they emit a soft, romantic glow.

A major new highlight for 2026 is the 4-meter-high Lantern Cube structure. Guests can step entirely inside the cube to experience a breathtaking 360-degree immersion of light.

Additionally, a detailed photo installation mimicking a traditional lantern-seller's cart evokes the classic streets of Hoi An.

Traditional Ao Dai Dress-Up and Painting Workshops

On select weekends (June 27–28 and September 5–6), visitors can deep-dive into Vietnamese heritage during the Fully Vietnam Day sub-events.

Ticketed afternoon sessions allow guests to paint and take home their very own authentic lantern. As evening falls, visitors can rent and try on a vibrant, traditional Ao Dai dress with the help of native staff, making it the perfect attire for capturing memorable snapshots around the illuminated venue. 

A special airline-sponsored raffle will also give lucky participants a chance to win round-trip flight tickets to Vietnam.

Otona no Yofukashi Night – Monthly Late-Night Chill Series

Embodying the mall's seaside resort lifestyle concept, the venue will host a dedicated evening program for adults over select weekends. This monthly entertainment series shifts themes to create distinct, sophisticated late-night vibes under the glow of the lanterns. 

The fun kicks off on June 19–20 with a BOOK theme, featuring a pop-up BOOK TRUCK on the deck where guests can browse literature while sipping themed cocktails. In July, the focus turns to ASOBI (play) from July 10–11, transforming the space into a casual adult playground with giant board games, capsule toy rewards, and a quick 500-yen fortune-telling booth.

Finally, on September 11–12, the series wraps up with a MUSIC theme, showcasing smooth live DJ sets that curate nostalgic tunes and crowd-requested soundtracks.
