The peace monument “Phoenix” welcomes you.
Osamu Tezuka spent about 20 years, from the age of 5 to 24, in Takarazuka, a city rich in nature. The Takarazuka City Osamu Tezuka Memorial Museum was established in April 1994, based on the themes of ``love for nature'' and ``respect for life,'' which he continued to express through his numerous works.
Look for the unique exterior inspired by an old European castle and the monument representing Tezuka Manga. The ``Bird of Fire'' spreading its wings into the sky was opened as the ``Takarazuka City Peace Monument'' with the wish that ``peace may be created without war, and all life in the universe may be cherished.'' It is said to have been built the following year.
Let's go inside! The spacious entrance is full of playfulness, both on the ceiling and floor. You'll be greeted by popular characters in the fun stained glass windows, as well as Mr. Tezuka's smiling face adorned with mosaic tiles and the protagonists of special exhibitions (which change three times a year).

Enjoy traditional items and popular works up close
Let's start with the permanent exhibition room on the first floor. The rows of capsules are filled with materials related to Osamu Tezuka's works and items.
There are a total of 40 capsules on display with the motif of the life support equipment that appears in "Phoenix (Future Edition)"! Each capsule contains a story, such as his relationship with Takarazuka, where he spent about 20 years from the age of 5, the insect collecting that fascinated Tezuka, and his valuable medical license.
Another highlight of the permanent exhibition room is this “Osamu Tezuka Chronology.” Born in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture in 1928, moved to Takarazuka City when he was 5 years old. From the age of 18 to 60, the total number of titles he has worked on is an impressive 700 works and 150,000 copies!
The long chronology shows that over the past 40 years, the company has tirelessly created a series of works aimed at a wide range of generations.
Screening of valuable footage and original animation
The messenger machine installed at the end of the capsule is constantly showing a valuable video of himself, ``Osamu Tezuka Talks a Lot,'' and a video message by a famous manga artist and anime director, ``Talking about Osamu Tezuka.'' In addition to footage of Fujiko Fujio, Machiko Satonaka, Leiji Matsumoto, and Yoshiyuki Tomino, known for ``Mobile Suit Gundam'', it is truly a sight to behold!
You can sit on a chair and enjoy the view, so it's also recommended for a short break.
In the video hall "Atom Vision" at the back of the first floor, you can enjoy the museum's original animation that changes every month. Characters are vividly painted on the ceiling, making waiting time exciting!
Replaced 3 times a year! 2nd floor/Special exhibition room
Take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. The special exhibition room changes every four months and features exhibitions themed around Tezuka's works as well as collaborative projects with popular anime.
Special exhibitions related to Tezuka's works are held in spring and fall. ``The Firebird,'' ``Buddha,'' ``Black Jack,'' ``Astro Boy,'' and more...exhibitions that captivate fans have become a hot topic (the next theme will be announced on the official website from time to time).
Shop at the museum shop to commemorate your visit
Beyond the exhibition room is a fun shop! It's also a fun time to choose a small gift to commemorate your visit.
Clockwise from the center of the photo: individually wrapped "Houtantsugi Cookie" (486 yen), "Tamako Senbei" (540 yen) in collaboration with the carbonated rice cracker "Koganeya", and "Chocolate Lang de Chat Cookie" (864 yen), which is limited to the memorial hall. , ``Tezuka Characters mt (masking tape)'' (198 yen).

There are about 2,000 books in the library, including overseas versions!
The Tezuka Osamu Library, which many fans visit for fun, is stocked with Osamu Tezuka's manga and related books. Approximately 2,000 books! International versions and Braille versions are also available.
"Information/Anime Search Machine" with a slightly futuristic form. You can freely view a variety of data about Osamu Tezuka himself and his works, as well as most of his anime works! Try playing games with the characters.
Take a breather at a cute flower table surrounded by the world of "Jungle Emperor." Please take off your shoes in the rest area in the back and bring small children with you.
The ``Theme Exhibition Shelf'' is arranged by year based on the theme of ``Osamu Tezuka's works drawn during his Takarazuka period,'' including ``Star System Notebook,'' ``Shin Takarajima,'' the influence of the Takarazuka Revue, and manga covering the stage. It is designed to be even more detailed so that you can enjoy the worldview of the work.
Experience anime production at the G floor anime studio
Now, go to the last floor, G floor. The space is just like Astro Boy's robot factory and has a lot of atmosphere! At the ``Anime Studio'' where computers are lined up, you can enjoy a simple experience creating anime.
I found Mr. Tezuka drawing manga on the stage in the back of the workshop! Yes, this is Osamu Tezuka's work room.
Osamu Tezuka Memorial Museum is easily accessible not only from within Hyogo Prefecture, but also from Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto. You can receive a variety of messages such as Tezuka's passion, his wish for peace, and the preciousness of life from his works that have not faded over time.
